Statement

"The existence of opposites and their paradoxical nature. Physicalised by immersive fantastical patterns. Tactile and intimate relationships between the imagination, body, and object.

You’re amused but also confused.

Obscure, Ridiculous and Peculiar

Unsure if you presence has been invited or if you’re an intruder. There is discomfort among the comfortable and an attraction to this repulsion inanimate presence seems animate." By Beth Tilley

"Beth Tilley works mainly with installations that throw the viewer into a completely different environment, an alternate world which they have no control over, a world perhaps which they can remember in the deepest parts of their minds from being present within long ago. Tilley is trying to use her work to tap into different states of consciousness within the viewer and to spark memories and perceptions from different stages of the human beings life form. Her installations touch on the micro/macrocosm, the human condition, connecting with and understanding nature, the interconnectedness of all forms of life, becoming, memory and deeper still touch on altering states of consciousness and the structures of the society’s within which we live."

Quote from Molly Basterfeilds essay 'Beth Tilley; Art- A Nameless Science.'
